Sunday 9th April 2017 – Fir Water

It was the turn of Ince Rose Bridge Angling Club this week on Fir Water. Top weight on the day this week went to Barry Ellison on peg 34 with 51-4-0. Barry kept his tactics simple, targeting the large head of Ide and Skimmers by fishing worm and caster down the track. Barry also picked off some Carp from the same swim by switching to sweetcorn on occasion. Runner up this week was Liam Radcliffe with a total weight of 41-6-0 from peg 40. Liam targeted the Carp fishing pellet both across and down the side and switched to maggot when the bites slowed up to target the Barbel and Skimmers. Not far behind was Mark Sanby with 37lb from 28. Mark adopted similar tactics to Liam fishing pellet and maggot both down the edge and across. Fascinatingly, all this weeks top weights came from the opposite side of the lake to last week indicating the fish are now starting to move as the water warms up through April. Thanks to all the lads from Ince Rose Bridge. Here are the top three weights:

1, Barry Ellison – Peg 34 – 51-4-0
2, Liam Radcliffe – Peg 40 – 41-6-0
3, Mark Sanby – Peg 28 – 37-1-0
