Sunday 19th March 2017 – Fir Water

The return of Atherton Tackle & Bait fishing club produced some improved weights this week as the lads had the benefit and experience of a practice under their belts from last week. This week saw Steven Frodsham take victory with a total weight of 48-2-0 from peg 7 made up mostly of small to medium sized Carp and F1s. Steven fished simple tactics using just sweet corn as the hook bait and feeding small micro pellets little and often tight to the far bank at 14m. Runner up this week was Neil Glindon doubling his tally from last week’s match with a total weight of 42-6-0. Neil drew peg 9 next to the aerator fishing similar to tactics to Steven with corn and micro pellet tight on the far shelve at 14m targeting the Carp which are now starting to show again. Third this week was Philip Bird with a weight of 36-4-0 from the opposite side of the lake on peg 21. Philip targeted the large head of Ide fishing just 3m straight out in front of him on corn and maggot for a total net of 36-4-0 made up totally of small to medium sized Ide.
