Introduction to Angling

A popular course amongst schools that introduces young people to angling. Pupils will be introduced to different fishing tackle such as rods, reels, fishing poles and learn how to set up the fishing tackle before enjoying an angling session upon ‘Fir Water’ our specialist angling coaching lake. The young people will be encouraged to work in teams supporting one another with prizes available for the best team on the day. All sessions are overseen by our in-house tutors and fully qualified and experienced level 1 and level 2 Angling Coaches.    

The Introduction to Angling course is a half day session, designed to provide pupils with an insight and a taster experience of the Assisting Others in Angling BTEC programme.

Back to Nature

Back to Nature offers a wide range of exciting and inspiring outdoor activities for pupils of all ages, as well as team building and problem solving activities around Fir Tree Fishery – the ideal environment to try something new, challenge yourself and have a great time. Pupils will learn about the environment, nature and carry out tree planting activities to develop new experiences. This programme is designed for schools that are all about helping re-discover the natural environment through innovative learning that will encourage free range for your pupils.

The Back to Nature Workshop is a half day session, designed to provide pupils with an insight and a taster experience of the Land and Environment BTEC programme.

Fish and the Aquatic Environment
